Education CS E. Machogu, KPSEA results 2022 release date will be 17th

Machogu said the learners who sat Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) exam will transit to junior secondary.

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu says all the learners will transit to Junior Secondary School (JSS).  “I wish to announce that all these learners will transit to Junior Secondary School.” The CS said.

Release of Grade 6 Results, when are KPSEA results released?

“The exercise of marking has now been completed and the schools will be able to access the KPSEA reports through Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) portal from tomorrow, Tuesday the 17th January, 2023,” Machogu said while presiding over the release of Form One placement at the Kenya Institute for Curriculum Development, (KICD) Nairobi on Monday morning.

KNEC has also been directed to hold joint discussions with with the two agencies regarding the national KPSEA reports with a view to providing feedback on the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) to help guide the ongoing curriculum review.

In the meantime, the Education CS has warned that no school should charge Grade 6 learners transitioning to JSS any fees.

CS Machogu says the government has already set aside Ksh. 15,000 for each of the learners that will start joining JSS on January 30.

The enrollment, availability of facilities, and security of each school will be taken into consideration in determining which schools will be able to host junior secondary students, and which will be merged with other schools.

Only schools with more than 45 students will be eligible to host junior secondaries, while those with fewer pupils will be merged with nearby schools.

In terms of infrastructure, the ministry will look at the size and ownership of the land, as well as the availability of at least two extra classes for junior secondary students and the physical infrastructure available, including sanitation and food handling.

The schools will also be assessed on their preparedness to take on the different subjects that the students will undertake, especially those that require practicals.

One of the essential requirements for junior secondary schools is the availability of a laboratory for use by students for Integrated Science lessons.

The transition of the inaugural Grade Seven class in junior secondary schools marks a significant milestone in the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

Working on a 100% Transition

He maintained that the Ministry would work with the Ministry of Interior to ensure that all students will join Grade Seven in line with the 100 per cent transition policy.

School heads will be required to fill data on the admission of learners to schools on the National Education Management Information System (NEMIS) to enable monitoring of the students.

Mandonga Knocks Out Wanyonyi on 5th Round

Mandonga Knocks Out Wanyonyi on 5th Round

Tanzania boxer Karim ‘Mtu Kazi’ Mandonga knocks out seasoned Kenyan Daniel Wanyonyi at the KICC Ball Room in Nairobi Sunday morning.

The match, which was billed as a showdown between two, lived up to its hype as Mandonga came out swinging from the opening bell.

Wanyonyi, known for his powerful punches and aggressive style, started on a slow note, and Mandonga’s superior speed and relentlessness allowed him to dominate him from start to end.

As the fight wore on, Mandonga gained the upper hand, landing several clean hooks to Wanyonyi’s head and body.

From the start of the fight, it was clear that Mandonga was the dominant force, landing heavy punches and displaying superior technique.

Wanyonyi, despite putting up a valiant effort, was unable to withstand the relentless onslaught and was knocked off in the fifth round.

To the disappointment of the crowd, in the fifth round, Mandonga landed devastating hooks on Wanyonyi who then refused to come back for the sixth round, effectively handing the victory to Mandonga.

The victory was a huge one for Mandonga, who solidified his position as one of the top fighters and potentially set up a future title shot.

Speaking after the match, Mandonga defended his hype for the match saying it is key in making the game lively.

He said he will back to Kenya for another fight promising to floor the opponent again.

“Mdomo ni ya kupiga promo, nikiingia ulingo iko nafasi ya ngumi,” Mandonga said.

“Narudi tena Nairobi, Kenya hii Aprili ‘kumzika mtu’, raundi ya kwanza kaburi lake liko wapi? Muwekeni pale! Nitakuja na ngumi nyingine, sio Sugunyo tena.”

We congratulate Wanyonyi for putting up a fight against the self-hyped Mandonga. Even though he lost the match, he played his part. And as a sportsman, he fully understands that in any given competition, there is always a winner and a loser.

The Super Gonorrhea in Nairobi, The 1st of Its Kind

The Super Gonorrhea in Nairobi, The 1st of Its Kind

The super gonorrhea in Nairobi is having everyone talking. Not sure if the talk is for good reasons or it is one mixed with fear. Either way, we have compiled the below for your information.

What is Gonorrhea?

Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by the bacterium Neisseria gonorrhoeae. It is one of the most common STIs in the world, with an estimated 78 million new cases each year.

Symptoms of Gonorrhea

Symptoms of gonorrhea can vary, but in men, they often include a burning sensation during urination, discharge from the penis, and pain or swelling in the testicles.

In women, symptoms can include pain during intercourse, vaginal discharge, and bleeding between periods. However, many people who have gonorrhea do not have any symptoms at all, making it a silent but dangerous disease.

Gonorrhea infection in your rectum, or rear end, may cause:

  • Bleeding
  • Discharge
  • Itching
  • Pain when you poop
  • Soreness

If left untreated, gonorrhea can cause serious health problems, including infertility, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), and an increased risk of HIV infection. It can also spread to other parts of the body, such as the eyes, throat, and joints, leading to serious complications.

Why is The Super Gonorrhea Alarming in Nairobi?

The Kenya Medical Research Institute (Kemri) has reported a high rate of gonorrhea infections among Nairobians. Super gonorrhea affecting Nairobians is also reported to be completely resistant to all antimicrobials, making it a serious concern.

The good news is that gonorrhea can be easily treated with antibiotics. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) currently recommends a dual therapy of two antibiotics, ceftriaxone and azithromycin, to treat gonorrhea.

How to Avoid The Super Gonorrhea in Nairobi

To prevent gonorrhea, individuals should take certain precautions such as practicing safe sex, using condoms or dental dams, and limiting the number of sexual partners. It’s also important to get tested for STIs on a regular basis, especially if you are sexually active. Below are ways to avoid the trending revelation so you won’t be a statistic.

  1. Limit your number of sexual partners.
  2. Practice safe sex by using condoms every time you have sex.
  3. Get tested regularly for STIs, especially if you have a new sexual partner or multiple partners.
  4. Talk to your partner(s) about their STI status and get tested together.
  5. Avoiding having sex with anyone who has an STI. But its tricky to know this, so stick to the points above.

It’s also important to note that antibiotic-resistant strains of gonorrhea have emerged, so it’s important to follow the treatment regimens provided by healthcare professionals and to take all the prescribed antibiotics to avoid development of drug-resistant strains.

In addition, individuals who are diagnosed with gonorrhea should inform their sexual partners, so that they can also get tested and treated if necessary.

In conclusion, Gonorrhea is a common but serious sexually transmitted infection that can cause serious health problems if left untreated. It can be easily treated with antibiotics, but it’s important to practice safe sex and get tested for STIs on a regular basis to prevent the spread of the infection.
